Pool liners for steel wall pools
There are two different types of round and oval pool liners in the product range of Steinbach: the overlapping pool liner and the pool liner with hanging edge. Using the hanging edge - also called wedge piping - the pool liner is fixed at the steel sheathing below the handrail. Overlapping liners can be fixed with an adhesive styrofoam wedge or a plastic strip. The styrofoam wedge is fixed with a special glue at the inside of the steel wall pool. If you do it by yourself, note, that there are no wrinkles at the inside of the liner. The handrail fixes the inner liner.

Frequently asked questions for Steel wall pool liners:
Depending on the material, the pool must be set up at outside temperatures of 15 ° C to a maximum of 25 ° C, as the material can contract or expand. Steel wall pools with overlapping sheeting require a cove. Styrofoam wedges have to be glued to the inside of the steel wall between the wall and the bottom.
Due to the material of the pool liner, it is not possible for holes or cracks to occur in the pool liner without outside interference.
Possible causes are:
- Incorrect storage, e.g. below the minimum temperature of 5 °C specified in the operating instructions.
- Incorrect use of pool chemistry (incorrect dosage, etc.)
- Use of chemistry that is not suitable for pool operation
- Insufficient cleaning after dismantling - residues on the pool liner start to react and attack the material
- Holes can also be caused by animals (cats, birds, rodents, etc.)
So that the liner can be placed over the steel wall (i.e. it overlaps it), the liner must be produced higher than the pool actually is.
Laying the pool liners
An aluminium suspension profile is suitable for fixing the wedge piping to Styrofoam pools. The rod offered by Steinbach is 200 cm long and anodised. Anodised means that the aluminium suspension profile has a protective layer of oxides that protects the rod from corrosion.
The Pool Coping plastic bar with a length of 100 cm is suitable for fixing overlapping foils in steel wall pools. It is resistant to chlorinated water, has good clamping properties and is made of high-quality plastic.
Styrofoam® wedges are suitable for use as a cove when laying an overlapping foil. They are glued directly to the steel wall on the inside with a special adhesive. For example, the Styrofoam® contact adhesive from Pattex is suitable for bonding the Styrofoam® wedges. This is a special adhesive for attaching Styrofoam® wedges (cove) to the inside of steel wall pools.
Winter-proof pool liners, which means a vinyl thickness of 0.40 mm or more, protect the steel shell pool from external influences and potential damage and enable the pool not to have to be dismantled during the winter months.
